Gah this month could not have gone any worse in the terms of no spending. My husband’s phone fried and he had to purchase a new one, the dogs had an awful smell about them after the perimeter of our house was sprayed and then it rained, and at this stage of my pregnancy and other numerous reasons I couldn’t do it myself so they were groomed…. The list goes on, this month has, however, been good to me in that I know how frugal I can be in terms of meals! I’ve been awesome *high fives self.* I keep telling my husband that we will be doing another no spend month and soon. Like before the holidays.
We agreed to begin purging our house before our next move which I have been very good about. I have sold numerous items of furniture we have had in storage or that has simply been unused, like extra dressers and guest bedroom furniture. I’m hoping that we will be able to make our next house an actual home. I want to design the interior the way we would like it to be, and for it to make us happy when we see it, rather than for it to look like a bunch of hand-me-down furniture tossed into a house like ours currently looks like (at least our living room, gr).
Our goal is that we will be able to refurnish our next house using the cash from purging our current furniture. That’s a darn frugal goal that I’m certain will not be successful, but it’s such a strong goal to stick to in order for us to really search for what we need. There are certain items I know we will have to buy later without our “purge money” like accent chairs and a new bed for us, someday, but in terms of exact item replacements, I think we can do it!
However, back to the no spending talk, I’ve been keeping myself busy around the house, luckily not wandering stores impulse buying random things that add to the clutter I’m currently trying to clear. In the next few days I plan to begin painting the last 5 walls that have paint in the house, and working on de-cluttering our sun room. ❤
