Back Yard Project

I love being outside even if I’m just lounging in a chair reading a book or on the internet, it is always better when outside in the fresh air.  The house we live in now is lacking in the back-yard-awesomeness.  When we moved in it was patchy grass and an awkward concrete path that leads from the house to the service road/mailbox which separated the yard in half.  Upon move in we fenced the yard in for the dogs and then the yard sat all winter.

Come spring I was itching for some sort of patio area to lounge on with my pups and Elizabeth, so we began researching projects as we always do.  The biggest struggles we face are: 1. we don’t want to spend a lot of money because it’s temporary (2 years from now we move again), and 2. we have to remove anything we add, so we don’t want take-down to be too intense.

With that being said we couldn’t put a leveled out patio in because digging the ground up now and later is just too much work, so we decided on something raised.  More research for ideas and product prices we decided to build a deck which I am hoping will be put together by the end of the month (fingers crossed).  We have a dining set that we received as a housewarming gift that was on super clearance.  It is aluminum so it doesn’t weigh much and won’t rust, with cushions on all 6 of the chairs, and it was $130.  I had no idea the actual price of the set until we went into Home Depot this spring and found it for $800.  I had to pick my jaw up off the floor.

This spring we have purchased a gazebo with full netting and have everything set up except the decking.  I have such an itch to get out there and do it (I tried, I’m not physically strong enough to do what needs to be done).  Hopefully I can light a fire under my husbands butt to get this thing done ASAP!
