Lovely Marine Corps. One must appreciate the love-hate relationship I have with the corps right now. Can I just have my husband please? Today my husband is doing land navigation. I don’t remember him leaving this morning, which is common, but I typically hear from him after PT and during lunch. Unfortunately I don’t think he had either of those today, thankfully no PT on a land nav day, but c’mon, no lunch? That’s the second best part of the day (second to him coming home) when we typically have the best conversation of our entire day. What time of day do you typically talk with your spouse?
It is a lonely day when my scatterbrain forgets that I will not be able to talk to him, and I wait for hours until I finally realize that he probably won’t be having lunch (as it’s already 1500, or 3:00 for you normal people). I have recently given up chain-watching netflix and hbo go realizing just how worthless my life was becoming, and started working toward building my etsy shop so people are more likely to purchase from me. Well, I have been making car seat blankets, or stroller blankets, any type of seat that has the two straps and one buckle design. I’m currently making my third which is my favorite so far. I am absolutely in love, I almost want to keep it for the day I have a baby girl, but jeez, that will never happen. So, what is your favorite thing to pass the time by when you are alone day after day?
Oops, I also forgot, I have begun searching for a job because we are probably staying in Quantico for longer than expected…much longer, like half a year longer, which is a very long time considering we were only supposed to be here for half a year to begin with.
MILSOs out there, please help me with this: Have you had jobs in duty stations? And if so, what types of jobs have you found are the easiest to keep during PCSing? What type of jobs are the easiest to get when you’re a MILSO? Thanks lovelies.
By the way, William entered his final list of MOS preferences yesterday. Fingers crossed he gets his number one choice!
