etsy success?

I currently run an etsy shop where I make and sell baby items.  I have only sold two items so far, a patchwork quilt and a set of cotton & chenille burp cloths.  It is difficult to get people to purchase items because no only is etsy absolutely packed with these same items but I have realized just how difficult it is to get people to leave reviews.  My new theory is that if a shop has sales but no reviews then the product must be good.  If it wasn’t a decent product the consumers would have left a bad review, because people always review things poorly when they are displeased, rarely do people ever review when they are satisfied with a product, unless it has to do with their bridal registry.  Another reason why my etsy shop hasn’t succeeded (I’m assuming on these) is that I never have a large selection to begin with.  The down side to that is that I don’t want to commit a ton of money into making these things if they never sell.  The most frustrating issue I have is that I can never get a represent-able photo of the items!  I have the cutest set of burp cloths (the same that sold earlier) that are a lavender color: one is sparkly, one large floral, and one small floral.  In the photos they turn out a gross, washed-out grey color.  Who would want to buy that?!

If you’re curious about my product or just want to giggle at my awful photo-taking skills, feel free to visit my etsy shop:

If you have any advice for me please share!  My current sale technique is to post the prices lower than other shops’ items.  This is the one thing that I think I have going for me.  If you like what you see, please share my shop or purchase for yourself (I have even thrown in a surprise matching gift with the purchases so far)! ❤
